Thus road / railroad bendings are more accurate and the same is true for rivers, shorelines (but where the OSM raw data is bad, this can’t help much either) The vector data simplification is less aggressive than in the default mesh (where Laminar needed to do that to limit the overall size of the global scenery).BUT this also vastly(!) improves the landclass data representation (which in X-Plane is very closely coupled with the triangle size in the mesh).this give – obviously – better DEM (elevation data) representation (slopes, mountains etc.).The triangle mesh resolution is far higher than in the default mesh and even a bit above the level of the previous HD Mesh Scenery v3::.The most important advantages of HD Mesh Scenery v4 are It is using/referencing the exact same set of artwork files (textures, object, autogens, forests) which ship with XP11, so you do not need other art assets to be installed while HD Mesh Scenery v4 will also benefit from any artwork improvements (autogen, texture) coming with future XP11 versions.
HD Mesh Scenery v4 can be seen as a vastly improved version of the default scenery shipping with XP11.
It's far from IXEG, but I'd say it's good if you're able to overlook some system-simplifications and loss of button-functionality in the cockpit.RELEASED: HD Mesh Scenery v4 for X-Plane 11Īlpilotx / Decem/ featured, News The wait is over, and HD Mesh Scenery v4 for X-Plane 11 is now officially released! It has gotten a bit better since I tried it last time (I flew it just a week ago or so. I would probably say that this should be the normal price, not the 4th july price. I see it's $45, I'd say yeah, if you really like the 747, then it might be worth it. However, I don't know if this is the aircraft or something that is wrong in the latest navigraph data. Other than that, I had some issues when running long haul over the atlantic with VIA's that didn't work correctly. The engine sounds are not anything special, and this often kills my mood to be honest (comparing to the IXEG or FF767). Maybe a little quick, but it "feels heavy", which is an important factor to me at least.
Other than that, the buttons seem cheap, when clicking one button another often pops in at the same time. The ND's are NOT connected to eachother, meaning you can set different ranges on them individually. I think it needs quite a lot of work to be honest.
